Welcome To Spring Soccer!

Sudbury Soccer Families -

Welcome to the Spring soccer season - although this week and weekend to come has let us down a bit weatherwise, we remain in good spirits about the season to come.

This season over 1100 players will join us to learn the game of soccer through the development of individual skill, fitness, teamwork, and fair play and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome them.

But it wouldn’t be possible without the effort of many people and I want to recognize one of them today: Sandy Moore. Sandy has helped tens of thousands of players, families, and volunteers come out and play with Sudbury Soccer. And this year we are celebrating her TWENTY-FIVE YEARS with the club!

Ask 100 residents of Sudbury - who is Sudbury Soccer? - and 100 out of 100 will answer “Sandy Moore”. She’s carved an indelible path through our town, making it possible for GENERATIONS of young people to find and love sport and soccer. Season after season wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of our Administrative Director / Field Scheduler / Registrar / Historian plus whatever else she simply takes care of for us all. So if you see her out at Haskell or Cutting this season, join me in thanking Sandy for everything she’s done and does for Sudbury Youth Soccer.

And if you do make your way to Cutting or Haskell this season - and we hope you do! - you may notice a few new items that Sudbury Soccer has invested in.

We’re extremely grateful to have received a grant from the Sudbury Foundation to invest in Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) that will live at Haskell and Cutting and provide another layer of safety for our players.

We’ve also invested in new goals for our younger players in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, goals that will stand up to the winds that can hit Haskell - as well as look good doing it.

And for our travel teams we have new canopies and folding benches for match days. Rain or shine (and we’ve had some hot ones in recent years) they’ll provide a bit of shelter for our players.

Looking forward to a great season!
