CAREER

Kevin Friel is in his 10th year with the NE Revolution and his 7th season as the Assistant Technical Director with Sudbury Youth Soccer as part of their partnership with the Revolution Academy.

Prior to joining the Revolution in 2008, Friel spent 11 seasons with Beverly High School and several Youth soccer organizations in Essex County bringing them to several regional titles. Friel has been coaching over 25 years and previously the Irish native coached and played in Ireland in the USL, FAI Cup and League cup competitions as well as Winning National School Titles at youth levels. Friel continues to play today.

Since joining the Revolution, Friel has been involved with the summer, spring, winter and fall programs with various town associations and premier clubs in the region. He became a full time NE Revolution Academy coach in 2013. He worked with the Revolution Youth Development Teams in the US Soccer Development Academy league providing game day management and team analysis. Working for the Revolution Academy has allowed Friel to observe and participate in many coaching sessions led by the first team and youth development coaches. He is currently involved in all aspects of the Academy throughout the year.

In his spare time Friel is an avid fan of the sport expanding his knowledge and has attended games in person at the World Cup, European Championships, Champions League, Premier League, Scottish Premiership, MLS and numerous underage Competitions in New England and back in Ireland. Friel now resides in Beverly, MA.
